Yes, it is an API wrapper on top of a ports and adapters pattern, so first release, it is on top of AWS, but in our roadmap, we will create adapters for Azure, GCP, etc, so, the API wrapper can wrap around multiple clouds, your app does not have to care. You simply use data, storage, cache, search, and queue.
From the developer team perspective, you have one connect-string and you have access to all of your application services, no kubernetes, no aws, no hard coded decisions around your services, separating your business logic from your services.

We've been trying to fix the same problem for a long time but you have to make more clear what https://hyper.io/ is. I'm guessing it is a wrapper API around AWS services to make dev ops application writing easier?
