Hello! My name is Mitch, but I go by many titles... Valhalla_Dev on Twitter, dad, husband, maker, hacker, researcher, developer and entrepreneur.

These many titles make finance complicated. I've been working hard to diversify my revenue streams over the last decade of development experience, but with more income comes more financial complication. A year ago, I decided to start tackling that complication... and The Personal Finance Notebook was born!

The Personal Finance Notebook is a Jupyter Notebook I built to track my budget and expenses, project my financial goals and observe my progress toward those goals with as much automation as possible. What was an incredibly manual tasks a year ago that took the better part of my early morning now only takes seconds! I input my daily and weekly expenses into the Jupyter Notebook interface, update my goal tracking and look at clean and simple visuals that show me how I'm progressing toward my goals.

I genuinely use this on a daily basis, and I really feel like automating away as much of the drudgery of personal finance tracking as possible can help you achieve your financial freedom.
