Hi all, was searching through the forums, but I couldn't come up with anything.
I am currently building a landingpage and I am planning to show a section with apps that my service integrates with. Something like this:
"Integrates easily with: "
Now, I want to show the other apps icons underneath for recognizability as these are highly relevant to the people I target my service for. These services however are the big dogs of the industry: such as Salesforce, Hubspot, Slack, Google, etc.
Would I get in trouble in using these icons in the abovementioned context or do I need to get specifig approval by all these companies before using their logos/app icons?
I don't know the legality of any of this, however if you search for company name + branding you can often find pages giving you information to use when referencing their brand. Complying with this information seems like it would be helpful, although again I don't know about the legality.
I don't have an answer for you in this case.
However, regarding the use of company logos on the website (logos from reference customers) my lawyer told me to better get approval first, before using them. We do this with a short sentence in our terms of use (which apparently nobody ever reads), but a mail to their legal department should also work.
Why not simply reach out to e.g. legal@salesforce.com and ask for permission?
