Lessons Learned- from Youtube Marketing 🎬

Hello Indie hackers! 🎉

After spending several days, my team and I released a brand new series of videos on our Youtube channel. As complete Youtube newbies, we produced all the content ourselves: choosing the theme, writing the script, creating the animation, recording, SEO optimization ......
When the video was released, I thought it was all worth the effort. I'd love to share our products here and share some lessons learned from Youtube marketing.

What are we working on? 🤔

We are an auto translation & transcription website: Gglot.com, aimed to help bootstrapped entrepreneurs expand their websites into multiple languages and grab more market share globally. For your information, our site is built on WordPress which is a free blogging platform and it is powered by ConveyThis.com, our home-grown tool that lets thousands of people translate/localize their websites and stores.

How to make a Youtube video (step-by-step)🎶

Here are all the steps needed to make a successful YouTube video.

Step 1. Create a YouTube video strategy

Step 2. Find YouTube ideas and themes

Step 3. Watch similar videos to see how they are made

Step 4. Write a script to plan your shoot

Step 5. Edit the video and create the animation

Step 6. YouTube SEO optimization

Step 7. Promote your video (that's what I'm doing now!)

Lessons Learned 🎥

Try a variety of presentations. We tried a variety of filming methods, from real-life filming and explanation to full animated presentations. From the results of the play count, the former is more effective. Of course, basic equipment such as microphones, tripods, cameras and lighting are essential.

It's more efficient to script the shoot and then start shooting. A clear script and outline is a great tool to help you stay focused.

Make sure the shooting environment is clean and tidy. One of the biggest mistakes to avoid when recording yourself is too much clutter on and off the screen. If you're shooting video at your desk, at work or at home, it's best to have a clean and tidy environment.
