Let's get it! Hump day's Daily Stand Up!

Why?

That extra nudge of accountability to achieve even a small step on your IH journey each day.

To join in:

01 COMMENT on AT LEAST ONE fellow hacker's progress and give them an IH Point for their check in. Let's get in there with the encouragement/feedback! (Changing the order, because I know we can do better!)

02 Share your epic (a big chunk of work with a meaty objective) you'd like to complete by the end of August.

03 Share what you accomplished yesterday.

04 Share what you commit to accomplishing today.

Optional:

05 Share your Work In Progress to underscore your accomplishments.

Then tune in the tomorrow to share how you did on your own tasks!

    By the end of August:
I'll have my product (fingers crossed) released. I have around 4-5 crucial backlog items that need done.

    Yesterday:

    • New brand image, visible on homepage of website (https://trackmylift.app) and also on the dashboard of the app.
    • Updated Stripe to meet the SCA requirements
    • Updated some of the screenshots on website
    • Got to work on 1/5 of 'big' backlog items
    • Implemented some more features into the sidebar of app.

    Today:

    • Later on - Hopefully get the Add Exercise modal re-vamped to allow for differentiating sets e.g. Bench Press 3 Sets of 8 reps, 6 reps, 4 reps. Maybe different weight too, but the ability to alter this instead of a standard "Bench Press - 3 sets, 8 reps, 100KG".
    • Get the Add Exercise modal complete.

    BOOM!
    Just over two weeks πŸ‘πŸ»

Nice job on the landing page and app so far! Any prospective customers/users at this point? Curious what sort of validation you've been up to! πŸ˜€

      1. 1

Thanks for the interest and kind words!

I've been talking to a lot of people locally and it's definitely of interest to people. I've also been in talks with a few gyms to promote it at their reception via a "pop up banner".

I've done 6 months research in this project, using other apps and gym workout trackers and they all posed the same problem. They're gimmicky, too many unnecessary features and functionality. If i wanna log and schedule my workouts, thats all i wanna do.

I'm obviously going to utilise facebook ads as well and target a specific audience, which will be quite powerful for this type of target market!

I'm very excited to release! :D

By end of August, I'll have proven whether my online course was a one hit wonder or is a source of recurring revenue.

    EPIC
Launch evergreen course and sales funnel, earning 5K in revenues.

    BREAKDOWN

    • Week 1: Complete scripts. [5 of 5 completed]
    • Week 2: Complete video shoot and email funnels. [8 of 8 completed]
    • Week 3: Complete website. Launch FB ads.
    • Week 4: Launch free training and respond to queries.

    YESTERDAY

Yesterday's shoot was a complete debacle. I am officially derailed.

    TONIGHT

    • Figure out how to salvage this month's epic.
    • Incorporate @louisswiss amazing feedback.

    KUDOS

Another round for @louisswiss. I owe you one, gent! Thank you!

    1. 2

No problem! What went wrong with the shoot?

      1. 1

Pretty much everything. But in short... I needed a teleprompter. I was pretty wrecked day of. But a good work out and an even better shower got me back on track. I'm legit excited about Plan B.

        1. 1

That must be difficult if you are the main focus of the videos.

I normally have a screencast going with me in the corner, so it's fine if I have to do a lot of editing/cuts.

BTW a great tip for that which I picked up from @adamwathan is to always restart with the final word of the last good sentence you spoke. That way, it's easy to cut in the new sentence because you're already in flow :)

  5. 2

  6. 2

    EPIC
Launching repobox.io with full npm support to the first paying customer in the early access list.

    Yesterday
Lots of customer development conversation with the users in the early access list. This generated several "in progress" items which I'll outline below. TALK TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! πŸ“ž

    Today
Finishing up API endpoints for license generation. We've figured out that there's a decent segment of customers that already have a marketing flow set up and just want to push API calls to us on the backend.

    WIP

    • Still polishing the landing page
    • Custom domain support for package registries
    • Custom scopes for NPM (right now everything's just @repobox)

    Shout Outs πŸ™Œ
@Janice - You're keeping us all moving in the right direction. These updates are a HUGE asset to the IH community, so thank you so much!
@rmccullagh - You're providing a great service with amezmo.com - Thank you for always being receptive, answering questions and making my deployments one click and zero downtime.
@ianlandsman - With his "Slow Mode Founders" Telegram chat, we've got a fantastic crew there, and the "only post once an hour" restriction really keeps the noise down.

    Happy hustle hump day! πŸͺ

    • Write an extra update email and maybe send it

    TODAY
