@sircharleswatson for his first solo outing with his 6-month old. Kudos for making time and it's a big reason why we do what we do here on IndieHackers. Don't lose touch with life.
@rmccullagh for shipping www and root domain support for SSL applications hosted on Amezmo. We're super happy about it!
@helengriffinjr - Way to hustle and still keep track of things like OKRs, customer development, interviews all while doing a part time job! It's easy for us to get lost in "product land", but the marketing and talking to customers is vital.
@jimmylipham awe thanks for the love, man. Really appreciate it. Yes, I agree talking to customers is vital, but I'm learning from this round that listening to customers is even more vital. LOL

@louisswiss on getting onboarding emails written π
Nice job on the first solo outing with your daughter! Those are the memories that you'll carry the rest of your life and are a big part of why we're doing what we're doing as IndieHackers.
The PHP course, I'm intrigued... are you doing just the basic language, or are you targeting a framework like Laravel?
oh... re: PHP, it's probably not clear... I'm actually learning PHP for some consulting work I'm gunna be starting in the next couple days haha
And yes, the outing with my daughter was definitely memorable :) Totally worth it.
Nice man! How's that going for you so far?
it's not too bad yet haha. Just going through some laracast videos. Haven't really done anything with it yet :P
By end of August, I'll have proven whether my online course was a one hit wonder or is a source of recurring revenue.

@davey. Hoping your court date went smashingly well.
My court date took up a whole 2 days because it was in another state entirely but it did go smashingly well. Now I can get the kids ready for homeschooling this year

We're up to 180 user accounts. The advertising is still working!
@Taormina I'm curious what your plan is for monetization. Are you just gunna be using in-app ads? or do you have other plans?
Highly unlikely to ever do ads, at least of a programmatic nature.
My current plan was to offer a few small in-app purchases, mostly for customization options. For example, I was planning on providing a "rotating daily" sidekick that could optionally join solo adventurers on a quest. For a $1 purchase, you can instead have a fully customizable sidekick.
Another example is charging $1 to "reset your talent tree" to use the Warcraft analogy. Not that the progression system is in place yet.
I've also been contemplating how I want to offer PvP, and if a "league" experience with rankings might be worth a $1/month subscription to participate in, especially if paired with a free version.
This whole commenting is reminding me to go and update this, which I trimmed down recently: https://danger.world/blog/monetization
Awesome! I was more curious than anything :) Thanks for the insights :)
It's all a huge experiment. I'd love to hear the insights of anyone who has made something like this work before.
End of August :-
Get https://trackmylift.app released to the public ! This is gonna be such a fun time for me as I've been working incredibly hard on this along side my full time development job! I'm sure everyone will agree, it's not easy!! But hopefully worth it! :D
