Each week, I send out a validated, profitable startup idea that you can launch with no coding and very little money.
Here's how it works:
I've now done 4 editions looking at 4 different no-code startup ideas for bootstrappers to build right now. In this post, I run through all 4!
For each idea, we go through:
Let's go!

Landscaping, home cleaning, tree care, HVAC, plumbing. These are home services. With everyone staying at home, they have become more in-demand, not less.
In fact, home services was one of the fastest growing economic categories in Q1 2021, beating grocery stores.
It’s got a couple of other advantages for no-code bootstrappers:
There are some big companies proving out this market. Take Jobber, a Canadian company that just raised $60m to automate admin work for home services pros. Or ServiceTitan, which makes a $250m ARR SaaS focused on heating and cooling alone.
But no-code bootstrappers have the advantage where there are niches small enough to be overlooked by big, venture-backed competitors. By building directly for a niche, we can serve it better.
You can pick a niche on two axes: target customer and features. Choose your customer, and choose the feature you’ll build for them. I believe the most impactful feature you can build first is invoicing.
Why invoicing? Because it’s annoying, yet it has to get done. And you’d be surprised at how many landscapers and HVAC businesses still use paper or word docs sent via email. You can streamline their process, help them get paid more with automatic reminders, and give them time back to do their job – and if you do, they will love you.
Hold on, hold on… Is an invoicing tool too difficult to build with no-code tools? Nope! Here’s an invoicing tool for freelancers built in Bubble, and there are a couple of tailor-made tutorials shared further down in this email.

What are the hardest jobs for recruiters to fill? You’d probably say software developers… but it turns out nurses are equally difficult to hire.
There are fewer nurses than nursing job vacancies. Which means that helping hospitals hire nurses is a very valuable service.
This is proven by Incredible Health, a nurse-hiring startup that helps hospitals save $2M/year in HR costs (they just raised a $15M series B) by providing a “flipped job board” model.
How it works: Job-seeking nurses make profiles, then the platform shows matching profiles to hospital recruiters, who pay a fee for access.
In this issue, we’ll discuss why this is an awesome business model for a no-coder and how you can build it & get customers.
Side note: Nursing is just one angle. Turns out there are other wide-open hard-to-hire niches. For instance:
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that medical professionals are the heroes.
There was a 186% spike in demand for nurses due to the pandemic, plus increases in nurse turnover and stress. Industry projections show there will be a shortage of 1 million nurses by 2024.
Nursing is a job-seeker’s market. By giving nurses a way to apply to many postings with just one profile, you’re making it easier for them to find their next job.
By helping hospitals hire more easily, you’re enabling them to put resources they would have spent hiring to better use elsewhere (to the tune of $2m/year).

You might think “online courses” has been done, and you’d be right. With Coursera, Udemy, and others, online courses are saturated. However, there are a few adjacent niche markets that are significantly underserved:
Here are some jobs that are not done well by the incumbents:
Students want to:
Instructors want to:
Many schools are still closed. Extracurricular activities are canceled or severely limited, and kids have been stuck inside for months. That’s why one of the most promising niches right now is local in-person courses for kids.
Enterprising teachers are already hacking these together, recruiting through their networks and using spreadsheets or worse, physical paper. They’d gladly give someone a cut of their revenue to make it easier.
Plus, adults stuck at home are looking for stimulation too. Many will pay to learn new skills, whether it’s a dance class, chess tutor (s/o to Courtland!), or minimalist entrepreneurship course.
With lockdowns ending, now is an unprecedented opportunity to help people rediscover their communities while building hobbies and skills.

Today we’re looking at the category of Employee Engagement. These are startups like Officevibe that help managers get feedback from employees and present the data in a dashboard to help them improve employee performance.
What jobs does the customer “hire” this product to do? Well, let’s say you manage a team. You need to:
With everyone working remotely, employee engagement has been tanking. In a recent poll of US leaders, 45% of respondents said their demand will increase for employee engagement software.
Leaders who might be good at managing in person are now struggling to find a rhythm virtually.
Hope this helps you find your next idea and build the business that will help you live the life you want.
I'm doing this every week.

Wow this is a great post !!! I am blown away. I am actually into making the marketplace idea :) more precise one to one coaching. Just wondering ehat would you suggest for video conferencing ? Build it into the platform or outsource it to zoom or sonething ?
Oh awesome! Love that!
For the MVP I'd outsource to Zoom - you're still providing value without that. Then when you have enough customers, hire a dev to build it into the platform :)
