Looking for feedback for devmarks: Bookmarking for Developers

Hi, I've been working on https://devmarks.io on the side for the past 6 months or so (more details here: https://www.indiehackers.com/product/devmarks-io).

I'm more of a backend developer so design and marketing aren't really my strong suit, but I'd love to get some feedback on my landing page. Is it clear what devmarks does? My target market is developers so I feel like it can be a little quirky, but maybe I should make it all feel "more professional"? Any other thoughts?

Thanks in advance for taking a look and letting me know!

    Hi Adam,

Overall, it's a nice page as I could easily understand the product. However, one issue I felt is that it has too much text. Some suggested changes are:

The hero section looks a bit descriptive. You can add images or video to make it more interesting.

    The fonts can be changed.

Yeah, I totally agree. I need to figure out how to add an image or video to help out.

Thank you so much for the feedback!

    Interesting Idea @adamghill, Congratulations!

    Some WoW factors

    • Nice apocalyptic future animation :)
    • Quick demo panel in the landing page

    Some Observations

    • Font size was too small, wasn't easy to read in my ~15 inch laptop screen
    • Feels too much text on the hero section, if you can reduce it and push it to later sections that will help I believe
    • First link in the nav bar says 'Collections' which was not very obvious to me that it showcases some public bookmarked collections. May be if you could change the label would be move obvious
    • As a dev, I think this tool will be helpful but it would make more sense if developers can directly add the links from the browser without going into your site with the help of some extension or something. That way you could avoid juggling between browser tabs and bookmark from the supported sites directly

    Hope it helps!

Please feel free to DM me on Twitter (notifykamalraj) if you need any clarification. I can take a look at your app and future versions of the website and give you feedback as well. Hope we can add value to each other as makers!

Awesome feedback! Thank you so much. :)

I'll look into the fonts and make some of the navigation more clear.

too much text on the hero section

      Yep, totally agree.

add the links from the browser without going into your site with the help of some extension

I have a todo to make a browser extension -- I should probably bump that in priority.

      Thanks again!

ah good to hear that you already have the idea of browser extension in pipeline!

Glad to know that you find it useful, Cheers!
