The number one anxiety upon seeing the "Connect your database" is about whether you're going to get access to my data from using this. That's a strong no.
But as I scrolled, that anxiety sort of got reduced when I saw "Your credentials are encrypted with a key that's only available to you." And still...
So my suggestion is to replace "No credit card required" with "We don't ever get access to your data because <short explanation with a link>".

Short aside: I've actually been in the market for a tool that lets me produce charts from data for a client project I have. And I've been wanting a tool that lets me visually shape the data and it spits out the SQL I need. I'm willing to pay money to help speed that part of the process for my project. I presume Chartello doesn't do that, but thought I'd share.
Hi Pascal, it's great to have your comment. You're right, I gotta add more emphasis to and make it clear that we can't access the database of our users much earlier in the pitch.
I went through your article and bookmarked sharpen.page right away. I love how you've applied and explained the idea of reducing anxiety to multiple different scenarios.
As for your project, I'm keen to learn more about the ways you intend to visually shape the data before getting a SQL output. I still can't tell if this is something that could somewhat overlap with Chartello, but I'd be more than happy to chat more if you're keen. My email is [edited].

Here's a bit about the project I'm working on. I'm almost no longer in need for the solution I was looking for, but had it existed, I would have doled out the money.
I've been building an app for a business that sells data that it collects on a specific industry sector. The app I'm building shows 9 custom charts to paint a picture of the market trends and the business' collection of that data. The charts aren't complex per se, but they're custom. A line chart, a multi-line chart, a chord diagram, area charts, a treemap, stuff like that.
But I didn't want to write the SQL for these! I neither wanted to become an expert in complex SQL nor an expert in complex ActiveRecord. I know that most products compete with "I'll do it myself", but I've charged a fixed price for this project and I underestimated the development time by a factor of 2 or 3. I didn't want to "do it myself". I wanted the SQL to write itself. My client uses Tableau, and we figured out a trick to get the SQL from its logs, and that helped me speed things up, but I still needed to load my brain with SQL-y things that I wanted to save for more chart-y and UX-y things.
So that was my struggle.

Hi Matt, really like the landing design, I would suggest maybe doing the animations in the top fold a little 'slower' or 'smoother' right now I feel like it's really aggressive. Adding some minor effects around 'pulse' could also help you out improving the message around one of your values which I suspect is the live aspect of your product.
Also, just as an extra I think that showing a little bit about how simple it would be to connect your database would help your audience (developers?) see that they don't need to do a lot of work to use your product.

Having the animation running in front of my eyes for quite some time, I don't think I could've spotted that it's too fast on my own, but now that you mention it, it's pretty visible.
I'm gonna look into adding a short demo video to show the process, and I think a live pulse animation sounds like a great idea too!
