Looking for newsletter tips from other creators

Hey all!

I've decided to get back into content writing this weekend, mainly talking about growing my apps and myself as a creator.

I've signed up to Substack and was hoping to pick the brain of folks here who run and have grown a successful newsletter over time. What are some tips that you've found make your pieces more engaging and fun to read? How long is too long, as well?

For context, I created Launching an Indie App back in 2020, which was more long-form. People loved the level of detail, but this time I want to keep it simple with less publishing overhead. (took me 2 days to write + edit LAIA pieces)

Thank you! 🙏

Been in newsletter space with Micro SaaS Ideas and a lot of IHers love the content.

See below. Not tips but some pointers.

    1. There is no 80/20 rule. You have to hit 100% every single time.
    2. You are as good as your last newsletter issue for existing subscribers
    3. Longer newsletter doesn’t mean always good content
    4. Make the issue crisp, and easily digestible.
    5. Even for a free newsletter, your reader is paying their time and attention.
