Looking for P/T Dev Collaborator (could lead to co-founder)

Why This is Worth Your Time

  • Want to on a project with potential? I've got a working product with paying customers in a space that is booming (creator economy).
  • Want to work on something technically interesting? There are a lot of moving parts: Python (FastAPI), StrapiJS, React, GatsbyJS on AWS. I'm looking at expanding the code in browser capabilities (amongst other things).
  • Work part-time, whenever suits you. I don't care if you have another F/T job. I don't care what timezone you are in. We can work async or not. I am flexible, and relaxed about inputs.
  • It's paid work (we can discuss what works, but I'm thinking something like $500/month for part-time)
  • Open to things eventually leading to equity/co-founder role (or not, either is fine). As far as I'm concerned all the posts here on IH proposing immediate co-founder status are bonkers. We should work together for a few months first and see how we find it.

Overview

I'm building an online course builder for developers. Since its launch in February, the platform, CourseMaker, supports ~80% of the core features of VC-backed/publically traded firms like Teachable/Thinkific, but with some tailored features for technical course creators.

What I'm Looking For

I'd like someone who can help me with the dev work (so I can do more marketing) and get familiar with the codebase. I'm looking for at least a 3-month commitment (ideally 6) because it'll take you a month to get up to speed (everything is well documented, it's just reasonably complex at this point). Sorts of skills that would work well would be one (or more) of:

  • Solid backend web dev in Python (even better, FastAPI)
  • Solid frontend web dev with React (even better, GastbyJS)
  • Solid DevOps with AWS

I can either learn from you or act in a mentorship capacity (see below), hopefully both.

Why Trust a Word I Say?

  • I've been teaching devs for a couple of years ~17k students, proof
  • I know how to build stuff, former tech lead at a unicorn (grew a key product from prototype to millions of users)

Other than that, check out the site: https://coursemaker.org/
