Looking for sales person

Looking for a sales / marketing person to help me sell my product: https://thingrig.com . I'm a technical and financial guy but selling what I'm building isn't exactly my strong suit.

Ideally this person would be in Germany or GMT +-2, but if it's a perfect match doesn't really matter. English (must) & German (beneficial)

Quick overview:

  • product is in an MVP state
  • website is ready
  • first investor is lined up
  • first customer as well but is delaying due to summer break

What I understand from this is that your actual goal might not necessarily be to 'do marketing' honestly. You need more conversations with potential customers to understand where the product actually fits.

That feels like a useful place to start. Rather than pushing traffic or content immediately, I’d look at who is most likely to have the problem, what would make them care enough to talk, and then test that with a small set of targeted conversations.

There are a lot of ways you could work this through once you get a basic positioning idea for ThingRig

I like what you're building; it looks like a solid opportunity. Finding the right sales partner early can make a huge difference. Wishing you the best with your MVP, first customer, and investor. By the way, I'm active online under mineckrftapk if you'd ever like to connect. Good luck!

Thank you for your kind words!

This sounds like a promising opportunity for an experienced sales and marketing professional. With an MVP, a ready website, an investor lined up, and an initial customer in the pipeline, you already have a strong foundation. The right person can help develop your sales strategy, generate qualified leads, improve customer acquisition, and turn early interest into consistent growth. Wishing you success in finding the perfect sales and marketing partner!

I do sales for a marketing agency right now, I am very good at building relationships from nothing.

    I'm a professional musician
I've written a few books and literally hand-built a list of 15,000 churches and emailed every single one to sell the books.
I've done similar things with senior homes and this has brought me over 200 gigs in 2025.

I'm also a developer by profession (Rails, full stack). I have had 10+ years in the field. I'm not going to be the sales guy who nods along without understanding what I'm selling.

I may be late to the party here, and so not sure if you're still looking or found someone already, however happy to hop on a zoom call.

(I also can converse lighty in German, studied it in College)

Hey Marvin, good job with thingrig. I see a lot of potential, it deserves to get presented to a variety of customers in order to find out the top 2-3 ICPs. One of the biggest struggles that I saw, especially in the software environment, is finding the product market fit.

I would like to find out more about the current state of the project, let's connect!

    Hi Marvin,
komme direkt aus dem Bereich (GTM, VC und war auch schon founders Associate). Schreib mir doch gerne bei Linkedin: Leonard Dylla

Before hiring someone to scale sales, the founder should own enough discovery to define the motion. I would complete 20 conversations with one target segment, document the problem, trigger, buyer, objections, and next step, then give the salesperson a narrow experiment with clear targets. Otherwise they are being asked to discover the market, position the product, and sell it simultaneously without a reliable baseline.

      That's good advice, thank you.

For an MVP product with a website, investor interest, and an early customer, hiring a dedicated sales and marketing person can help accelerate growth. Look for someone experienced in B2B sales, lead generation, customer outreach, and startup marketing. Since English is essential and German is beneficial, a candidate within Germany or GMT ±2 could make communication and market development easier. Clearly define responsibilities, targets, compensation, and growth opportunities before hiring.

After reviewing ThingRig, I see a clear path to generating leads and moving them to sales by content that speaks directly to lab managers, engineers, and team leads The goal is a coordinated effort: social media to generate initial interest, email to nurture and convert that interest into booked demos and ultimately sales.

Since you already have an investor and a first customer (even if delayed), we have strong social proof to build upon. Let's hop on a Zoom call to discuss your specific sales targets, current lead list, and how we can structure a campaign to get you to your first paying customers if your down to partner up

You’ve framed the next bottleneck as sales/marketing.

What have you seen from the first customer or other conversations that made you confident the constraint is getting the product sold, rather than still figuring out exactly what makes someone buy?

      Hi,
thanks for taking the time. I'm not sure yet I have market fit but I need more conversations with potential customers to find this out, I think.. So marketing is not the focus yet.

        I appreciate you clarifying that.

I'd be interested in continuing the conversation by email if you're open to it. What's the best email to reach you on?
