Looking for technical co-founder

Hey!

My name is Wil, I am one of the co-founders of StoryIt. StoryIt allows any brand or Restaurant to turn customers into influencers. Our software allows our clients to send a post-purchase SMS text with opportunities to make money back or receive discounts. We have connections with major pos systems like Square, Toast, and Clover. My co-founder and I have experience in marketing and scaling, as well as myself having experience in saas and the agency space, so we are looking for a more technical co-founder. This would be an equity position and remote. We are located in Dallas TX. You would also be working with our junior devs, and overseeing them.

Interested? Email me: wil@storyit.us with the subject line "CTO"

I am a junior developer, can I join the team?
I don't want a 100k salary, just looking for passionate founders to work with and learn the industry.

"Our software connects via POS to send deals through SMS" is that a spelling mistake or you actually meant Point Of Sale?

I worded it wrong. But our system connects with a brands or restaurants POS system, and that info is sent to the dashboard, which creates the contact and sends the offer that the brand or restaurant created.

Not much of a change, connection to a POS system is expensive (time and resource) you better find another way of onboarding restaurants, practically as many restaurants they are, half as many are the POS systems they use, and most of them will not cooperate with you to open some sort of an integration interface.
Not that the actual integration is an easy thing to do and maintain, believe me I have built a lot of POS systems.
Keeping with the bigger system is good but it is also limiting (plus they can push an upgrade and scrap your entire system), and most customers will not give you the option to contact them, you better think about some sort of customizable QR that the customer can scan and pick up an app or go to a website and register themselves.
And one more piece of advice if you are not too bored to read, ditch your cofounder, startups with 3 top-level owners will not work, and as you need a very good tech person to build something usable 33.3% will not be enough (assuming you will not be adding a good salary on top of the shares) basically the core of a startup is always 1 business and 1 tech person, everyone else is an employee (one exception that allows a 3th person is if you have a money/connections man that is different than the idea/business one)

Appreciate the advice! We have the ability for people to sign up via QR codes, as that was our original idea. The POS stuff came into play when restaurants asked if we could connect to then send post-purchase messages. You can still manually upload the customer list if you decide to, or can just have it set to new sign-ups. We are totally willing to pay our CTO if that is something they ask. The other co-founder was a vital part of sourcing angels for investment, and also for sales efforts as I had to be handling everything else.

Again, really appreciate the advice and notes!

seems you have things under control, good luck with the project
