LTD:$1.5K, MMR:$0, ARR:$0

Hey Indie hackers,

I have a product called MonitUp.com, MonitUp increases the productivity of teams and companies with employee monitoring.

I sold a total of 30 licenses for 1 code(5 users)$49 via AppSumo. Got the review which included 6 of 5 tacos.

However, AppSumo has removed MonitUp from the market without giving a reason.
AppSumo should end one day anyway, because it's not profitable.

Now I have 2 options in front of me, either without AppSumo I will continue LTD myself: https://lifetime.monitup.com/

or the more difficult and correct way: I will solve the MRR and ARR side.

What would you recommend for a project with MRR $0?

Bummer about AppSumo, though I generally think it's best to stay far away from them. Maybe they are good for initial traction, but in the long run it just isn't sustainable.

I'm not a fan of lifetime deals. I think you'll be better served by blogging or some other form of content marketing like podcasts or YouTube in order to get long-term traction in your market.

AppSumo has been really helpful for me. When I first launched the project, it was a crappy product and didn't do much. I couldn't find anyone to use it even for free.

While I was researching why I couldn't sell through AppSumo, the product got a little better, a few post-customer feedback and cash were very helpful for the project to progress.

But you are right, only AppSumo is not sustainable. A business model that only includes AppSumo will soon fail. It may be right to quit after confirming the idea.

I'm just not sure if my product is ready for MRR, I can't sell subscriptions right now, I don't quite understand why.

Maybe you want to attract more visitors to your website with Yotube, prodcasts or blogs.

But as a solo founder, it's really hard to devote time to so many different and so many things :(

    1. That is really weird for AppSumo to remove the deal. I have seen so many deals are up there for months and a year.
What do you think the problem was?

    2. You really have good brand name and also domain extension. If you work little bit on blog content creation and seo then you will get better results compared to AppSumo in 6 months or 1 year.

I think there are 2 reasons for this, the first is that I was able to sell a total of 30 licenses. That's close to 0 for AppSumo.

Secondly, my target audience is B2B. Many products on AppSumo are B2B.

You may be right about SEO, I hardly have time for SEO :( Only a few people a day come by searching for MonitUp, my average daily visitor is around 20.

SEO is a bit difficult to do with limited time and limited budget :(

People generally don't like the idea, it doesn't sound good, I know that.

How do you think the productivity of teams and companies can be increased? How can situations like "Quiet Quitting" be avoided?
