Magic Multilingual support for our AI Fashion Assistant

Last week we launched Fashion Fiesta (https://www.indiehackers.com/post/launched-a-fashion-ai-assistant-fashion-fiesta-5d70aafba4). An AI outfit recommender that tells you what matches with an item of clothing.

One user noticed that it worked when they tried searching in French and reached out to ask how we did it. We explained that the underlying tech powering it is what enables this, as it encodes the search input as a vector and finds outfits based on that. Therefore, if you were to encode the same phrase in two languages you would have a very similar vector.

It's not perfect but we support around 16 languages out of the box. Pretty handy for three hours of work. Give it a go with languages like Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic etc. We blogged about how we built it here: https://getvectorai.com/how-we-built-a-vector-powered-outfit-recommender/
