I've been working on building an entry for the Product Hunt Makers Festival and put the finishing touches to it last night.
I wanted to build something in the data visualization category and liked the idea of exploring the relationships that people have on Product Hunt.
My initial thought was to build something along the lines of "6 degrees of Kevin Bacon" but for the maker community. Perhaps 6 degrees of Ryan Hoover 😀
As I got into the build and trying to keep things simple since the deadline for the festival was pretty short, I focused in on the idea of surfacing peoples Maker Network.
Product Hunt does a great job of surfacing products, as it should -- that's their primary goal, but other than use profiles doesn't explore peoples network. Who have people worked with, what things have they built together. So I built a tool to do just that!
Would love to know what you think!
I love this project. Good Job @Mubs
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Nice idea. It doesn't like/find my username though :( (@rosiesherry)
For speed I only import anyone marked as a Maker on Product Hunt (otherwise there would be too much data to import).
I'll see if there's a better way to display that message, rather than just giving a not found error!
Really cool project @Mubs
Thanks! 👊
