When I started building AiLancerX, I assumed the main problem was writing better proposals.
But after talking to a few freelancers, I noticed something different.
Most of the time isn’t spent writing.
It’s spent deciding whether a job is even worth applying to.
So I made a shift.
Instead of focusing only on proposal generation, I started building around one question: is this job worth applying to?
AiLancerX now tries to:
Highlight vague or unclear job descriptions
Flag mismatched budget vs expectations
Check basic client signals
Give a quick apply or skip direction
Early observation: even simple filtering reduces a lot of wasted time.
Now I’m trying to validate something deeper — does filtering out bad jobs actually improve reply rate, not just save time?
If you freelance regularly, have you seen better results when you’re more selective?
Would love to hear real experiences.
