Hey IndieHackers,

I've really neglected the whole 'Build In Public' thing so I'm going to start giving it a go right now. I'm building getBenson.com - Benson stops discount codes from stealing your margin by blocking and reporting on what's going on with your revenue.

I've been working on every angle of this problem for the last ten years, as an affiliate with huge voucher publishers, a growth consultant, and building / selling my own voucher site myself.

Affiliate is pretty busted; discount extensions like 🍯Honey are wicked for end consumers, but nobody knows whether they're good for business, and brands feel like they're held hostage by leaked discount codes and lost margin.

Between 2 - 5% of traffic on any site at any one time is an extension user, and that's growing. As extension user numbers increase, the margin they're eating into becomes more apparent for brands... as a growth consultant, I wanted to measure their impact and give brands a way to 'take back control🤢' of their site, so getBenson.com was born.

There are other tools out there that do similar, (https://www.clean.io/ecommerce-coupon-extension-blocker are wicked) but I'm aiming Benson to be a sweetspot self-serve platform and expert consultancy tool that show brands the issue, and what to do about it - It's my consulting background that current customers are finding a ton of value in so productizing that is def the way to go.

Benson's testing internally with customers over the last two months and doing something like 3mil monthly sessions right now... With everything more-or-less working, I'm opening early access to collect more data, meet more customers and work towards product market fit.

Plus yknow, this is really good fun for me finally committing to my own project.
