Hey Indie Hackers 👋
I recently launched a lightweight web tool called https://ogwhat.com/ – it's designed to help users instantly generate OG (Open Graph) preview images for any URL. The idea came from my own frustration with sharing links that had broken or ugly previews, especially on social platforms.
I’m inspired by how many makers here build simple tools and grow them organically, and I’d love to hear from folks who’ve taken a small MVP and turned it into something bigger. Right now, I’m figuring out how to get more feedback and early users, and eventually monetize the tool (probably through freemium features or templates).
Also, I noticed a lot of you are running community-based or content-driven platforms. A while back I worked on https://whatsgrouplinkspk.com/, which curates and categorizes WhatsApp group links for easier discovery. Totally different space, but I learned a lot from managing traffic, SEO, and user behavior there – and I’m hoping to apply those lessons to this new project.
Would love to know:
What are some creative ways you’ve gotten initial traction for small tools?
Any feedback on the landing page or the tool itself?
Is there any community here working on similar micro-products?
Appreciate your thoughts!
