Most habit apps fail because nobody is watching you

I realized something uncomfortable:

Most of us don’t fail because we’re lazy.
We fail because there are no consequences.

You skip the gym → nothing happens
You break your goal → nobody knows

So of course we quit.

I’m building DealUp to fix that.

It adds one missing layer to habit-building:
👉 social accountability

You create a commitment, invite friends, and set a fun penalty if you fail.

No money.
No guilt.
Just a little pressure from people you care about.

Think of it like:
a mix of habit tracking + social contracts + fun dares.

Early idea, still validating.

If you're someone who struggles to stay consistent, I’d love to hear:

👉 What usually makes you quit your goals?

I happen to know a couple of people who struggle with consistency in their goals, and I could connect you for a quick free chat if you want.

Some people asked what makes this different from habit apps:

    It’s not about tracking.
It’s about making your commitments visible to others.

Once someone is “watching”, everything changes.

Curious if anyone here has tried accountability systems before?
    Did they work?
