My book got upvoted by Nir Eyal 🥳

A while back I launched my first book.

I had no audience, so my success was suspect.

A few good things happened - made $248 in 12 hours, got some great folks to follow me ... yada yada yada.

But this one was the biggie -

Nevertheless, since my original tweet mentioned him, my assumption was he was just being nice.

But then I saw this

Why is this a big deal?

Many of us have read his book, Hooked. As far as celebrity authors go, Nir is right at the top.

But what mattered to me was this - my product journey really began after reading his blog on the Hook Model. I had build products before that, but it had a transformational impact on me.

The impact was so profound that I remembered the Hook model, even if I forgot who the author was (I had not read the book yet).

For me the journey sort of just begun - that was day 1 of the launch. Zero audience building prior to that.

A vote of confidence from one of my icons was a big deal.
