Hitting 10 users might not seem like much, but for me, it’s a huge milestone. I launched WeCofounder.com to help early-stage founders validate and improve their startup ideas using AI. Something I have struggled with myself.
And about 2 weeks later, I have gotten my first 10 real users. Without paying for any of it.
So how? 3 things:
I focused a lot on optimizing my pages for SEO. I don't think this has brought many, if any, users yet. However, I think it will play an important role moving forward, as I want to get organic traffic.
Community engagement. I spent a lot of time on Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, and indiehackers. Depending on the platform, people were either very encouraging, or told me that they could build my platform from scratch in a day vibe coding with Claude. I got quite a bit of constructive feedback this way, and I also think this is where most of the users came from. For me, I think LinkedIn and Reddit got me the most users.
Made a "hook". Something that was very easy to use (no signup, and on the homepage). This was quite a simple tool, used to create some engagement and draw people in. Basically just a gamefied OpenAI wrapper. If people liked what they saw, some created an account to use my actual product. I think a key component of a hook is that it needs to be fast, easy to use, and have very low overhead. A prompt costs close to nothing nowadays, so it is fine if only 1/100 of the people create an account.
How did you approach getting your first users?
