My First Month (July 23): Spindle

Hi Everyone!

I started 12 startups in 12 months at the beginning of July.

After 11 days, I'm happy to announce that I have the MVP for my first project Spindle: https://spindle.licoriceworks.com

Spindle is a tool meant to help mathematics educators in their async communication with students. Right now, it's a simple tool to render equations that can be easily pasted into an email or chat.

After a slow, off and on 2 years of development on my last project which still isn't really launched, I'm trying 12S12M to help me exercise shipping. This project was less than 2 weeks to MVP, so I think it's working 🥳

I looked at the page and don't get it. If I copy the raw formula, it will not be rendered properly as the chat or email doesn't have the corresponding lib installed. How is that supposed to work?

Hi! Thanks for checking out the site :)

      It should be

      1. Type the formula
      2. Click render
      3. Click copy which will copy the image

I think I’m seeing some errors on firefox, but other browsers should be able to copy the image. Most email and chat programs can accept an image (they won’t need to render the formula, that’s spindle’s job)

Okay, now I see. You may want to write this instruction on your website + there is no "Render" button. Instead, there is a button with a circle icon, couldn't guess what was that.
        Good luck!

You’re right. That’s super helpful. Thanks!
