My little app finally got a website (Howdy)

After almost abandoning my little side project I've decided to give it another go this year (nearly a year since launch), added some features, and launched a proper website :-)

If you're doing an app, do NOT forget about a sidekick website because it's a great way to redirect people to and get their attention/eyeballs for a minute — so much more natural than sending them to the App Store.

You can see the website here: https://howdy.cubitoo.com

Hey, congratulations to your website! It's pleasant to look at and I like how it does not try to do too much. Maybe you can dial back a little on the text and add a quick video instead? Especially below the fold the amount of text is a little overwhelming.

I also always love to see the price of an app or service on the homepage or at least find it quickly when searching for "price" or "pricing" on the page. I understand that your's is still just a click away when I go to the app store but maybe you can toss it in somewhere on the page, too.

    Great work!

Thank you — I definitely have to add some images. The video idea is great too, would you rather see me talk about the product or have an animated concept video? I never know what people prefer in that kind of pages.

Listing the pricing is a tricky one, though, because the app is available worldwide so there's no single price and it's managed by Apple — you get to see the actual price when you visit the store page. I guess it's one of those "allow sideloading in App Store" discussions ;-)

Oh damn, I didn't know that.

As for the video: I don't know that either. Struggling with that decision myself :D But my best guess is: Any video is better than none.

Yeah (at least) Apple AppStore handles everything in USD so I set a price point and they recalculate all local prices based on that (+ there's customizability if I want to make the app cheaper/more expensive in a specific country).

Congrats on the release! The page is a bit text-intensive, you could add a few more screenshots/images or reduce huge blocks of text.

As for the product, my biggest question is why would I use Howdy instead of simply writing my notes in a note-taking app or an excel sheet?
