My marketing tactic. Week #1

Foreword
3 weeks ago I've launched Marketing No More.
I was inspired by Brett's Designjoy and decided to do marketing on subscription for SaaS. Simple idea, simple price.

After doing some customer development I realize that it will be too complex to provide 15+ services because products on different stages need different approaches. And I decided to niche down and start with a small simpler service — blog ghostwriting.

And in this series of marketing tactics, weekly I share describe actions I do to attract customers.

My global marketing strategy is simple — find a repeatable and scalable growth channel that returns $2 or more for every $1 I've put in.

Week #1

Right now I am at a very starting point on a mission to get my first customer and will do a manual thing that doesn't scale — cold outreach.

I've started with simple numbers for the upcoming week:
• 10 Twitter DMs per day;
• 10 cold emails;
• 3 twitter threads per week;
• 1 micro project in 2 weeks to boost traffic to the site and build an email list;

Here are some numbers I got so far:
• 421 users, 595 sessions(GA)
• 2 newsletter issues
• 263 newsletter subscribers(9 unsubscribe)
• Sold 3 sponsorship posts

This number I got from the launch of the first micro-project 100+ Best Marketing Threads.

The next one is already a work in progress, but I'll an announcement later(will be about newsletters).

That's pretty all with the plans for this week. See you in the next one 🙌

    Looking forward to following along! Curious, how did you get your newsletter subscribers? We have around 1500 subscribers but haven't explored sponsorships yet.

    1. 2

      I used a little facebook hack to do it and explained it here

      For the sponsorship, I guess I just got lucky to get it so fast

    "find a repeatable and scalable growth channel that returns $2 or more for every $1 I've put in."

    If you could find a way to make that work for other businesses as well I think it would be very attractive.

    Marketing is a bottleneck for many startups.
    I'm not sure IF there's an easy method to make it work. But that could be a good angle to approach it.

    1. 2

      The problem here is that not scalable for 1 person's business. Each business is very unique, has a different product-market fit and capacity.

      The general idea of Marketing No More is a platform with different services you can use on a subscription to get your "$2 or more for every $1 puts in" faster.

      Like blog ghostwriting. You don't spend time finding a copywriter, doing research, and so on. Just post ready-to-use content.

      But you need to focus on your product growth and metrics that are important to your product. I just can't do that

  3. 1

    Can you say more about how you got sponsorships so quickly?

    1. 1

      For the sponsorship, I guess I just got lucky to get it so fast. Sponsor just riched me out

  4. 1

    This is really interesting. Did sponsors approach you first or did you do cold outreach to get them as well?

    1. 1

      For the sponsorship, I guess I just got lucky to get it so fast. Sponsor just riched me out

    2. 1

      same question!

  5. 1

    Did you actually sell with this tactic?

    1. 1

      I've sold sponsorship posts in the newsletter, but not yet Marlketing No More

      1. 2

        Stop, I'm confused. Is Marketing No More your product? Or did you advertise there?

        1. 1

          Marketing No More is my product)
          But also I have a newsletter called PROOFS, and sold sponsorship there
