In this series of marketing tactics, I’m sharing my weekly moves to grow my blog ghostwriting service.
The tactic of Week #1 you can check here.
A lot happened in the previous week: I got the first customer(which makes me very happy), ends up with cold emailing, tried a new pricing model(and revert it), added new quarterly pricing, update the landing offer, and decided to double down on Twitter. But first things first.
My first customer, I get from Twitter DM and close on a sales call. My sales strategy is pretty simple — I’m trying to give much more than that just articles ghostwriting. I’m doing SEO audit for the site on which we can work, prepare content strategy outlines, and share moves that need to do to increase site position in search results. I'm decided to give it for free even if we will not proceed further.
First, it helps me to come up with a task for the copywriter faster, and, if we will partners up, the position of our articles in search results will be higher. Win-Win.
In the previous post, I said that I’ll do 10 cold emails per day, but quickly I realized that it just takes a lot of time, and to do it properly it’s better to hire someone who knows how to do this. So this week I have a call with an agency that specializes in this. Will share my progress next week.
For some reason, I guessed that model 4 articles per month for a fixed price can work better. I quickly update my pricing and tried to talk to a couple of people to test it. But got negative feedback and guesses that not everybody what to start with 4 to test service at the start, so revert it back the next day.
After reverting prices to the initial model I decided to add a quarterly plan with a 20% discount. For me, it will be much ease to handle the content plan and content production upfront and customers can save some money. Again Win-Win.
My previous offer(Blog ghostwriting on subscription) was clear to understand, but doesn't show the actual value it can provide. So I come up with a new one — We write blog articles that ranks on Google.
The idea was to show that we are not just doing copywriting and show how we differ from freelancers(who usually just write). I will be grateful for your thoughts about this.
Initially, I picked up 2 ways to do a lead generation — Twitter DM’s and cold emails. Since I’ll outsource cold emails, decided to double down on Twitter. Will build Marketing No More in public and share everything there. You can join me along the way here.
That's pretty all with the plans for this week. See you in the next one 🙌
