NAS + Apps
The idea is to allow Cloud-like (sharing files, replication factor across multiple family devices, AI-based photo filters and search) experience on a NAS device. The target audience could be anyone with a mobile phone struggling to keep photos synced and managed centrally (cloud storage costs go up like crazy once you get into TBs). I request idea validation from the community!
Caveat: If you feel the problem yourself, then there's definitely others that also feel it.
It's really tough to go against google drive or dropbox. A 2TB plan is reasonable for me. They'll also handle file corruption and backups.
A small % of population have TB of data. And is that data super important or junk media (torrented movies for example).
Ok, so suppose you have TB of data that are important.

Thank you, @jammmer, for your response! I could target content creators who deal with RAW files, Logic Pro, iPhone Cinematics, etc. But I should surely think of a Glacier + Dropbox. Maybe building a seamless UI over tiered cloud storage might work for most.
Targeting content creators might work.
Glacier isn't user-friendly. Content creators might want a simple software that transfers X month old files from dropbox/drive to glacier.
