NDA

What is the major thoughts around having NDAs for connection on this site?

This came up recently when the lead of Gitea.io declared they signed an NDA without disclosing the specifics. The problem with NDA is that they are too broad, in general. To what extent does this NDA impact the ability of the lead to contribute improvements to the codebase in the future? It is impossible to say and that, in itself, is a problem.

I wouldn't bother. My problem is always getting attention on projects, not people stealing my ideas. I even released one open source to crickets.

If someone is asking me to sign an NDA before talking, I'd say thanks but no thanks ;-) The idea is probably too big to succeed as an Indie Hacker, or the founder is never going to release to the public because they're too afraid of the idea being stolen.

But to each their own. There's no one correct way to build a business, and if you can demonstrate enough value, you can get interest even with an NDA.

Awesome. Understood and appreciated. Best of Luck.
