Need help!!!!

One of my customer is asking us to add a feature which is not required by most customers or is only a wow factor feature. It is also a huge deviation for our team and is an additional cost in the short term. What should I do?

Just based on basics of your post, I would want the customer to pay for the feature. Which should cover 100% of your costs.

If they aren't willing to do that, then the feature is not really that important to them is it?

This way you can optionally roll it out to others for a fee.

Thank you very much. This makes sense. If they are that interested, they should be willing to pay for it. I will try this.

I've not personally had this problem myself but I've seen similar posts and most of the advice, which I would likely agree with myself if I got in that position that if customer is asking for a feature, unless it provides value to the majority of your customers, especially if its not a quick/cheap thing to implement its not worth you and your teams time implementing when your time would be better spent adding functionality/making improvements that would benefit the majority of your customers.

You obviously don't want to go back to your customer and say your not implementing it end of, but perhaps word it to say something like its not something you can implement right away and not sure whether its the right fit at this time for your product, but you'll keep a note of it and look into it in the future.
