Hey guys,
First of all I just wanted to say I'm new to this community and I really like how helpful everyone is to one another. Quick intro, my name is George and I'm based out of Orlando, FL. My background is consumer banking and I've recently started to look into setting up a project idea I've had for awhile but I don't have a technical background and so I've been struggling a bit. A few questions I have are:
- The premise of my idea is an application where users can interact with a chat bot that asks questions relevant to the purchase a consumer is making in my target market. These answers are stored and later displayed to the user in the form of actionable insights. The user has the ability to save these insights and access them at will. The app will need to have a user management feature, the ability to export content in pdf format, the ability to share via social channels, offline mode and a few other features. If I was to hire a developer to put this together, roughly how much would I be looking at?
- Any pros/cons of deciding to do this on a mobile app vs a web app?
- Any tips for how to get started on my journey?

Welcome George! You may want to check out Y-C's Startup School. Nothing all that special about it, but I've found the curriculum helps founders focus on what's important from a successful tech incubator's perspective. Those are good points thank you! I’m thinking it’s probably best to have the responses pre defined and just let the user choose. A lot of the questions will be binary so it shouldn’t cause too much of a headache. Now a web app seems like an appropriate choice to avoid the constraints of the mobile app environment however it will exclude the offline function that I mentioned earlier. The goal is to optimize it as much as possible for mobile since the goal is to have people use this on the go.
