Let's try to start some interesting conversations instead of sharing shiny MRR/ARR numbers, which is honestly just a type of self-promotion, is not it? However, topics where people share numbers are usually very popular.
Let's find out why that is so popular and why it is a very wrong mental direction to follow the success stories.
First of all, there is always some background story, usually never shared, behind any success story because it will affect the clarity of success. More or less, that is indisputably true.
Second, for each success story, there are always one thousand more failure stories that have never been told. It makes a lot of sense to understand why following or repeating steps for a success story will never properly work.
Following success is a type of common logical error known as Survivorship bias.
So, to achieve your own success, it is much better to analyse and follow failure stories, since only they will give you the ability to find your own path.
Talking about growth: at the very beginning, it's like nobody cares about the product you are building or launching. It is more or less true for 99.9% of newly created products. It might seem that the products or makers everyone is talking about have started to grow rapidly from day one, but just a little digging will show that it took significantly longer.
How to find your own unique path? That is what I want to discuss here. My suggestion is:
Do you agree or disagree? Let's discuss it and have a wonderful day today.
Agreed, in short: learn from failure stories and be inspired by success stories, never go the other way around :)
You're speaking some facts here.
That being said, I would love to hear some failure stories. These are the stories we can really learn from, but it's also the most difficult ones to tell 🙌
