Hey there, my name is Tiago and I am the creator of the WBE Spaces which is a community/coworking space for bootstrappers.
The community is growing slowly but steadily and in the month of February we decided to do a project together.
The WBE Labs
One of the members of the space @maxwelldavis pitch me the idea of us doing a different kind of hackathon...
Instead of competing against each other we should build together
Thats how the idea of WBE Labs came to be. A common project that should be built and launched in one month.
Naturally there are many open questions which to be honest we are still not sure how to answer:
What are we building?
Our first project will be called Collab Club and it's a platform that allows you to use your expertises to help someone and at the same type they will use theirs to help you. The skills must be complementary, for example I would help someone with my coding skill and get a designer...
How are we building it?
We still have to figure that out. We will have a kickoff meeting on the 1st of Feb.
How will you share the millions?
Great question XD. If it comes to that we decided that all the wbe members would need to agree on what we would do with the potential revenue. We could keep it for future projects or events, donate it, distributed, etc...
What's the teams expertises?
We have designers, marketeers, coders, etc... I will mostly be coding and I am excited to once again work with other devs.
Let me know if there are some important questions I am missing. In the end it will be a great learning experience and a way to get to know better the wbe members.
I will keep you up-to-date with our journey here but you can also follow us on Twitter at @wbepodcast.
Anndd you still can join us become a member of the wbe space until Monday and you can join us in this exciting journey ...
Thank you Tiago for creating this opportunity. A hackathon is a great way to get to know the other members of the community and find out how the team collaborates in the best way. Also, super excited to use Design Thinking for that as it includes a lot of opportunities to change perspectives, something I consider crucial for a good product - and a happy life too.
Who knows how it's going to go but I'm really excited about it!
