Our Journey in Launching a FinTech App in 6 Months [Case Study]

Straight to point: everything is being tested and documented as we speak. Will update on journey.

We're planning to launch our free stock trading app in Q1 2021... but it took some time to get here.

In September, we brought on 3 employees: marketing director, operations officer, and a creative lead for UX + UI design. Here's the process:

September:

  • hiring
  • training
  • strategy
  • planning
  • market research

October:

  • conceptualization
  • customer experience research
  • behaviors + practices
  • low-fidelity assets
  • user flow analysis

November:

  • concept development
  • validations
  • paid + earned user testing
  • high-fidelity prototyping
  • refinement

Going into December, we're sending the high-fidelity prototype and master files to the development team.

NOTE: We're building on top of existing infrastructure (v2.0), but this refinement is an entire overhaul of UI elements, CX flow, and has had deep UX research built into this.

Results:

  • Spent $800+ on assets, research, user testing, and prototyping
  • Allocated $180k on hiring and management
  • Timelines to launch: Q1 2021

We'll post more results in the future. Follow if you'd like? Up to you, stay safe everyone
