Paywall as a service?

Let’s say you have some content (an ebook, a course, a premium video, etc) which you are looking to monetise. Would you be interested in a service that let you host your content, put it behind a paywall, handles payments/access control and charges you either a percentage fee on each sale, or a subscription fee where this is waived?

I know this is pretty similar to gumroad, but the difference here is that you’d be able to author the content within the app itself.

I reckon this might be an alternative to something like teachable for small content creators (where the fees can take a big percentage of your revenue if you’re not selling massive amounts)

Hi! The idea is good, but the market is full of paywall plugins and apps. Even shopify has a paywall app.

To check if there is a demand, you should look for customers who would pay for such an application in pre-seles and then start the implementation.

I am not saying that the application does not make sense, maybe there is an unexploited niche, but you need to ask people who want to introduce paywall.

I think that niche/problem is full of products, not sure if something is new in what your suggesting

I have an idea for you: A paywall to see the paywall.

    Now we talking 💰🤙

It does sound good, but sounds like there’s existing competition. Why don’t you launch it, but positioned for a specific niche. I’m sure a bigger feature set will pop into view once you’be been in the space for a while.

Yeah I think it needs to be more specific - going to investigate the existing solutions and see if I can spot a gap. Thanks for the feedback!
