What is PlaytestQuest?

PlaytestQuest is a gamified quest engine built to democratize game discovery. Imagine Discord Quests, but built for every game developer and player—not just massive AAA studios with enterprise budgets.

Indie developers launch simple, targeted micro-quests (like playing a Steam demo for 10 minutes or watching a gameplay video), while players complete these challenges to earn real rewards. Our web platform syncs directly with our Discord bot infrastructure to handle role tracking, verification, and automated reward distribution seamlessly.

The Problem We’re Solving

• For Indie Game Developers: Standing out on Steam and YouTube is brutal. Developers burn budgets on low converting ads or struggle to get real engagement signals. Official Discord Quests are out of reach for budget conscious creators.

• For Gamers: Traditional playtesting platforms feel like doing unpaid corporate homework or filling out tedious surveys. Players want fun, low-friction ways to discover hidden indie gems and get rewarded for their time.

How It Works (100% Steam ToS Compliant)

We drive organic traffic, engagement, and valuable user feedback to Steam pages and game builds without risking developer accounts. We reward the completion of the playtest or quest activity, never reviews or store ratings.

• Low Friction Quests: Devs launch tasks like 10-minute demo runs, storefront UX audits or video retention checks (e.g., watching a clip and counting specific in-game events).

• Secondary Focus: While bug hunting and deep UX surveys are fully supported, our main engine is built around player engagement and traffic generation.

The Dual-Reward Economy: Points vs. Fame

Because specialized playtest spots are capped to preserve data quality, PlaytestQuest uses a dual-currency system so every player gets rewarded for their participation:

1. Points (Standard Quests)

Earned by completing casual everyday tasks (like checking out a trailer or running a quick demo).

• Enter Cash Giveaways: Use Points to buy tickets for community cash giveaway contests.

• Redeem Steam Keys: Save up Points to claim full Steam game keys directly from our reward shop.

2. Fame (High-Priority Quests)

Earned through specialized playtests, time-sensitive campaigns, or priority dev feedback.

• Direct PayPal Cash: Exchange Fame directly for real PayPal cash payouts.

• Digital Gift Cards: Redeem Fame instantly for popular gaming and retail gift cards.
