Please critique my landing page copy

Hey Herman, I still think you should alleviate the anxiety about "why should I host something on here for the long term?". "Will this be around for years? How is he making money from this?"
Maybe a "Build a blog that'll be around for years, because I've made this for myself so I can host a blog for years" or something. The fact that it's free isn't too re-assuring too.
Anyway, that's my take.
Nice thing going on here! Please bear with me and my feedback:
"Discovery feed" looks a bit weird. Most people will probably guess correctly what it stands for, but no guessing should be necessary this early on. I'd put something like "See what others write" or similar.
Noted. I'll see if I can spruce that up a bit :)
Hey Herman, the headline tells me what it is but not really why I should care, or who it's for.
This type of blog will appeal to certain types of people. What is their biggest desire or biggest pain when it comes to blogging?
I'm going to guess it would be for serious writers, like those who frequent a site like Medium.
If this were the case, I would go with a headline that reads more like this...
"Finally, a blog platform for serious writers - where words matter most"
Subhead:
"Bear Blog is a blogging platform that puts the focus on the written word first while protecting the privacy of your readers"
Hope this helps!
This is some great feedback. Thanks! I'll be updating the copy today.
Glad to help. I'm also looking to validate a product idea. I'm interviewing people, like you, who use landing pages in their business. Would you be available for a short 15-20 min interview?
Sure, my email is on my blog https://herman.bearblog.dev :)
Thanks very much, I've sent the email.
Hi Herman,
The copy is super crisp and short. There is some disconnect in what the copy portrays and what bearblog actually capable of.
When I read the copy, I felt like it was a minimal framework which I can use to build a blog. It only occurred to me when I checked this question "Can Bear Blog be self-hosted?" on the Github page.
The copy is super clear about how BearBlog is different and unique in a pool of blogging sites but it is not clear on being a platform ( like Medium ).
I would suggest to use the word "start" instead of "build" in the headline as well as at other places in the copy. The common search of a wanna be blogger is to how to start a blog. So using a headline like:
Start a blog with the only privacy-first, no-nonsense blogging platform.
It's good that you highlight how the blog is super-light for the readers. I would also emphasize the benefit of the ease of starting a blog with BearBlog cause it takes less than 2 minutes. And this is a super attractive for new bloggers.
I hope it was helpful for you!
Thanks for the incredibly helpful response and great suggestions. I'll be making some updates soon.
Cool, I would really love to know when you update the copy.
How about becoming a mutual here?
I'll ping you when I do. I'm unsure what becoming a mutual means tbh.
Mutual means people that follow each other on a platform. I'll go ahead first and follow you!
I've gone and followed you. The copy updates are up on Bear :)
Nice addition on the headline.
Not so sure about the "shun the bloat..." sentence because the real motivation of the visitor is to start a blog. I think it's better to address that in this line like:
Start a blog in less than 60 seconds with bear necessities
Hope this was useful!
