I've been stashing my weekly updates somewhat privately, but figured you all might be able to learn from my mistakes :).
Here's my weekly KPI snapshot:

I haven't been able to figure out how to use PMAlerts to sell PMAlerts quite yet. This past week, I added a feature that tells me who among my alert results has their DMs open, and that connected me to ~250 Indie hackers / founders. Around 5% of them ended up registering, but the free tier is usually good enough for individual needs. So no revenue impact.
I've been thinking about who I need to target if I want to sell the Startup/Enterprise subscriptions, and how to access them. Maybe:
My goal this week is to find time (on top of my dayjob - gah!) to talk to a handful of these folks about their needs, and how they go about monitoring social media (either for themselves or their clients).
What's especially frustrating right now is that there are so many improvements to make to the tech, but I just don't have time to make them right now (cc @gabe :p). So my top priority is avoiding code until I can get people paying for the product as it stands.
Any feedback on my thinking is welcome!
You're doing awesome! You have a great top of the funnel.
I would stop planning new features (disclosed and secret haha) and start having one on one with the people using it for real to get a sense of where the step towards paying happy customers lies.
I've been using the app daily and it's great and helps me a lot with my process.
Congrats !
You're so right. Thanks for this - and for the nonstop support <3
(I do hope those leads convert for you π)
Aren't there a ton of these tools? There's two or three other people who regularly post on IH that are building the exact same thing. I think there's even a couple free options (e.g. f5bot.com).
Ooh can you link them? I've seen sprout, f5, brand24, mention, and a handful of others. Nothing quite as simple as I'd like, though.
Crushing it. Congratulations Mick!!
Thanks! I wonder if an alert for "gumroad alternative" or "alternative to gumroad" might help you learn from folks who might love Flurly.
Here's an example:

Been using pmalerts daily. Awesome product!
Thanks Gabe. That HackerNews bug is high up on my dev backlog :p
I have been using pmalerts to find social media mentions for ory.sh and its been working great so far !
Being a tiny org it does not make sense to become a paying customer yet, but I can imagine that bigger orgs could benefit from it greatly!
Anyway its been smooth so far and I hope you can grow the service long-term :)
Ory gets a ton of positive sentiment online - well done!! I'm glad it's helping :)
