Hey everyone!
Would love to be a podcast guest for someone, or to potentially sponsor a podcast for our app, TapeDeck! Would love to personally chat a bit more instead of sharing details on here, but I've started and sold a business before, and we're currently working on an app to help bring people together.
Would love to collab!
I can't find a link to Tapedeck anywhere in your profile
Ahhh yes - our account is new so I can't put links anywhere in there, but our app link is appstore.tapedeck.co
Appreciate you checking it out, and also replying to some comments 🤝
Just tried your app. Stopped at onboarding when it asked for a phone number.
I'm probably not your target audience, so don't over-index on that.
So here's a big part about that - right now we're adding contacts in the 'most' secure way which is by phone # and by sharing your contacts list...
However, I've thought about 'usernames' as opposed to this.
Would you have felt more comfortable with just a username? Or perhaps email for authentication?
Even if I was okay sharing my phone number, I wouldn't have shared my contacts. You're not a big enough social media yet for me to trust you.
I get that you're trying to bootstrap a social media through contact like what clubhouse successfully did.
I'd be more comfortable with username/email.
I don't think I fully understand... sharing contacts is 100% a must for a messenger app... we're not a social media. We're never going to message a contact on your behalf, it's just so you can add your friends.
However, I get that you have your limits and I can respect that! Usernames I think might be in the future.
Might you explain a bit more about clubhouse bootstrapping?? Interesting 😊
And this is what makes social media hard. I won't share my contacts until I know my friends are there. For example, I share my contacts and number with clubhouse because two friends were there already.
You'll have to find an article with more details. I listened to a podcast about it, but I don't remember the details. I recall that one of the growth people in clubhouse worked for a social media already and the created/took/store a playbook on growth.
