Pool renovation estimates show why a services marketplace cannot normalize price with one €/m² field. In our latest 99manos analysis, replacing the ceramic finish in an 8×4 m pool starts at €62.91/m² in direct costs. But that rate applies to 68 m² of developed basin surface, not the 32 m² water surface. It also excludes coping, fittings, waste removal, contractor margin and tax.
The product lesson is to capture the intervention scenario before collecting prices: repainting, replacing the finish, adding a membrane, repairing the structure or renewing installations. Intake should also separate developed surface, linear coping, fittings by unit and waste by weight. Once those fields are explicit, quote differences become explainable and users compare the same job instead of visually similar totals.
