Pre-alpha anyone, help on how to ?

Hello all 👋 !

We have started a month and a half ago to build our first SAAS project.

Here is our current stack :

  • Stripe for payment
  • Auth0 for user authentification
  • Intercom for feedback and supports
  • Wordpress Saasland for marketing site
  • Feathers frameworks for the app
  • Digital Ocean for both the marketing website and the SAAS app
  • Filestack for file upload

We are currently testing the project with few people who are happy with it (only friends and family). We would like to have larger feedback.

What is your process ? How do you identify potential alpha friendly users ?
We would like to test for around 100 people and we would not like to be overwhelmed.

Please note that the service is French only and we are not looking for english speaking users.

Would be happy to read your how to for early testing !

It's hard to give feedback without knowing the industry, problem, solution etc. your SAAS is about. Most SAAS are B2B, but friends and family sounds B2C?

There is a lot of advice in this and other episodes. It's good to know what customer personas have the problem you are trying to solve and where / how to reach them. Consider trying to reach a few in a non scalable way to talk with them.

Totally agree on that. I was more asking on the process. Even if the personas are different, process must be kind of the same :

      1. interviewing
      2. asking around facebook group, reddit, LinkedIn group
      3. dm people and proposing to test
      4. build a landing page with pre-signup
      5. etc.
      6. ++
      7. product hunt
      8. ++

At each step, I guess, you all have a minimum size of users base. Of course the quantity depends of the global size of the total users that might be interested in the solution. But I was wondering the total process / classic steps.

I misunderstood you a bit then - sorry.

I follow vaguely the process from: https://www.indiehackers.com/start

Not sure if it makes sense to always have the same process for every project.

        Looking back for: https://amicu.app

        1. Brainstorming problem and ideas as solution
        2. Asking people for feedback
        3. Make design prototypes & iterate with feedback
        4. Implement the MVP
        5. Get feedback on MVP
        6. Build a landing page
        7. Get feedback and iterate on it
        8. Work on the MVP and landing page together (now)

But I learned a lot so I would not repeat the same process again, if I started this project from zero.

          Nice !
And so today where your users and future customers are coming from ?

          Thanks
