Hello Indie Hackers! As some of you might already know, I'm working on a Gym Tracker app designed to revolutionize how people track their workouts. We're in the first week of development, and I wanted to share some insights and progress so far.
We've chosen React Native as our tech stack, which has been instrumental in building a cross-platform app efficiently. With 423 exercises in our database and an AI coach feature, the app aims to cater to fitness enthusiasts of all levels.
One of the key challenges this week has been integrating the AI coach seamlessly. Using vibe coding methodologies with tools like Claude AI, we've managed to create a responsive and intuitive coaching experience. However, making sure the AI provides value without being intrusive is a delicate balance.
The waitlist has seen a steady increase, with fitness enthusiasts excited about the concept. We're at the stage where user feedback is invaluable, and we're conducting early tests to refine the experience.
In terms of development, we're on track but still have significant hurdles to overcome, particularly with UI/UX design to ensure an engaging user experience.
Fellow builders, what have been your biggest challenges in balancing tech development with user experience? I'd love to hear any feedback or advice you might have!
