Psychology Indie Hacking

Hi everyone, I have a Chrome Extension I built out that I think would benefit from a social movement behind it. Sounds a bit dramatic sure, but on a small scale, does anyone have hacks/studied anything to get small movements started?

For example, how did companies get greyed-out versions of flags/logos for people to use in FB/twitter profile pics?

Seth Godin is very focused on that and has a lot of content...

Thanks. I read Purple Cow and thought it was pretty well written but I gotta admit I wasn't exactly blown away in terms of actionable thoughts. It was very backwards-looking in my opinion. Do you have any works of his you recommend?

I mostly watch YouTube videos with him.
What I recall mostly is that his approach includes picking a group that really cares about a specific thing, than make something really remarkable for that group = something worth making a remark / talk about and it's ok only that group understands like speakers that are at least 30% better than the best ones on the market for audiophiles, and it's ok it's not for everyone and you can rightfully charge a premium and these guys would be over the moon and talk about it and promote it.... [Cause for that group it's meaning itself]
Similarly he uses these principles to use as movement groups around a topic (doesn't have to be a product)
