Quantum Computing Startup
After working with AI for several years, my interest has turned to Quantum Computing. Currently working with the IBM Quantum Cloud but all of the current systems on the market are severely limited. With that said, here is my idea:
Create a Quantum Computer with a classical computer as the controller. Similar to a GPU, this uses photons for the qubits and fractals on a classical computer for Quantum Error Correction. This hybrid approach could make it possible to scale the number of qubits without such things as superconductivity.
Offer access to the qubits under a SaaS model. I am thinking to have a few packages based on qubit time. For example, 30 minutes of qubit time for x dollars. Here the classical computer controls time to qubits, provides the API, etc...
If the prototype works (currently building) then I have access to seed funding to build a full-scale version.
What are your thoughts? Is this crazy to try?
Hey Todd, really interesting. I like the idea as for some time I'd like to play around with quantum computing but I never really started with it. The only issue I see is that I don't think I'd ever pay (a lot) for just trying it out as I can imagine the prices are quite steep.
To compare it with AI (on trying it out), firing an AWS instance to try some models is reasonable cheap and my assumption is that Quantum computing won't be, so the price to play is expensive.
Do you recommend any resources to read and learn a bit about quantum computing?

I think it is still a great idea to have more initiatives quantum related so people can start getting into, and having a platform like yours, allied to examples of things possible to do with quantum that people can run by their own would be a great resource.
Maybe it is ahead of its time, but maybe it's not. You'll never know if you don't try it!
