Question: Managing Subscriptions iOS vs Android

We're about to launch our first paid product in the coming days! (www.compoundjournal.com) ...hopefully! We're using RevenueCat for our Subscription platform. So far I've been really impressed with how easy they make this process and the implementation was super easy.

My question: Based on what I have read from the docs it seems like for iOS Apple does not allow the developer to handle subscription management on behalf of the user -- meaning the user would cancel their subscription from their AppleID. However, for Google it seems like the developer does have the ability to implement a cancel/refund workflow.

Any feedback or comments on this? Am i understanding this right?
