Question: Wikipedia & SEO

If I edit Wikipedia pages to link to my website, will that help the authority of my domain? On a similar note, would it help if I do the same on other wiki-style websites?

My website is about Rubik's Cubes, so my idea is to go on relevant Wikipedia pages and link to my website cubingapp.com.

If I do add any links, I will ensure that they are relevant and helpful. In other words, I'm looking to add value and not just spam.
