I would appreciate feedback on the content/copy, i.e. is the product and value proposition clear? What would you see changed or added?
Any feedback is appreciated!
Your copy seems too generic to me. How about, instead of this:
„We aggregate all content from multiple subreddits into one clear summary. No need to monitor multiple subreddits anymore“
Something like:
A weekly summary of your favourite subreddits straight to your inbox.
know what’s happening in your Reddit community in less than 2min, through the magic of a algorithmic summary
procrastinate efficiently with our 2min Reddit summary
Thanks for your input @SALY!
I will try to focus on make the copy a bit more focused, mainly aimed at bootstrappers/indiehackers, looking to keep up with multiple subreddits. Great suggestions!
I like that your website layout fits nicely above-the-fold so everything feels incredibly clean to scroll through.
I actually appreciate that.
In addition, I also saw that you have made supporting text around why I should pay attention to Townsquare Digest.
With said, have you thought about a shorter domain name? (could be me, I guess)
Thanks for your feedback, @GrowingSaaS!
I haven't, no, I kind of like the idea to try and brand it as an insight into the "Digital townsquare". But I'm by no means married to the domain, would love to hear any ideas you might have.
Writing whilst away from desk so forgive the bluntness...
Tagline is slightly too buzzy, just go with...
'A personal content feed for your subreddits containing trends, X, Y, Z...'
Removes the need for your 2nd down bulletpoint icon thing which is actually clearer than your landing page tagline.
Everything else is cool and the product is clear from what exists. Value-add is implied (just i'm not the target market lol).
Thanks for the feedback, @its_rowan!
I will look into the tagline. I like your suggestion, but I'm a bit afraid it will move focus away from the fact that it's a newsletter that is personalized to the individual user's selected audience(s). I'll play around with the two!
Unless i've misunderstood there's a few flaws with that.
it isn't personalized - the content is standard, the only personal element is the aggregation of it.
the word 'audiences' implies i'm the OP or presenter/speaker. Difficult to understand imo.
The format for the content is unclear, will this be via email? Newsletter implies email, but also this is not news... it's reddit threads - so not a fully fitting term. Best to reword as per @SALY suggestion or refer to it as a content feed (if it's not via email and it's a webapp or PWA).
Also I think you've had similar suggestions (that are also clearer and simpler) from others (see SALY comments) which tells me i'm not alone in flagging this.
Good luck refining :)
I'm not disagreeing what it could/should be approved, sorry if it came across like that!
Admittedly, the personalization is probably a bit more marketing than strictly personalization. The idea is to customize a report based on the audiences/communities/subreddit collection that the user has chosen. The content wouldn't be necessarily be standard, it would be influenced by the choices. I can see I definitely need more work on describing that.
Yes, it will be through email. I don't necessarily think newsletter means news, it's used fairly fluidly in my experience, but it's a point to consider (i.e what you would see creators on substack doing, the pragmaticengineer comes to mind). I might be wrong in this regard, what do you think would make more sense?
Thanks, and thanks for your input once again!
If you're adamant on 'audiences' then maybe 'communities' is a more fitting synonym of sorts for the existing tagline.
The over the fold area is fairly clear as to what this product is. However, I don't like how the email entry box looks exactly like the button below it. Now it looks like there are two buttons. Also, the copy is misleading. It says "enter email to start". That's not true. I'm not entering an email to start, I'm entering email to join a waiting list. Joining a waiting list is not "starting".
The squares of white small circles on the background don't add anything to the website.
There is no need for the main pitch in the OTF area to be gray font. Gray font typically means a disabled feature or some small footnote text that one doesn't need to read. If you want to tell your users to read your main pitch, use pure white or almost white font.
I might be slightly misunderstanding the product, but for something like this, I would assume there are search terms I can enter and then receive digest relating to those. I don't see anything about search terms supported in the Features listing, though.
The "About" header looks like a button. You should be clear what is a clickable button and what is not. That's the basis of UX.
Right now, there are three main problems in this landing page.
You don't indicate in any way, how long the wait is going to be. I could wait a few weeks or even two months for a good product. But I ain't waiting for two years.
There are no incentives for me to join your waiting list.
There is no indication of price. I could wait for a product that I know I want and that I know will be within my budget. But I ain't going to wait for a product that will be released at some undefined time in the future and then priced too high for it to be interesting for me.
The landing page is also missing privacy policy. Depending where you are located in (also missing from the landing page), it could be illegal for you to collect email addresses without a privacy policy.
Thanks for the detailed feedback @jv16!
I had been thinking about the incentive to join the waiting list, as I see your point about it not really providing much incentive atm. I had been thinking of introducing an early bird price for any new subscribers, while working on an initial product sample.
