Reaching Google Play Closed Testing Requirements — Need 12 Android Anglers

Hey IH 👋

I’m building EddyNote, a voice-based fishing journal that lets anglers record catch details hands-free while on the water. The idea came from realizing how quickly important details fade (wind shift, lure change, depth, water clarity, etc).

Progress so far:

  • 30 iOS users

  • Added weather + location intelligence

  • Crew sharing + launch tracking

  • Android build shipped this week 👀

Current challenge:

Google Play requires at least 12+ closed testers to keep the app installed for 14 days. I have none committed so far. I’d love community feedback and help.

What I’m looking for:

✅ Android testers

✅ Feedback on onboarding clarity

✅ Bugs/UI weirdness

✅ Suggestions on patterns anglers care about most

What testers get:

🎣 Free lifetime premium

🔥 Early access to new features

🤝 Ability to shape roadmap

Tech stack:

React Native + Expo, Express backend, Postgres, RevenueCat, OpenWeather

Questions for IH:

  • Best way you’ve recruited closed testers?

  • Should I incentivize feedback with in-app perks?

  • How would you validate retention in a niche activity app?

Thanks in advance! Happy to answer anything about the build, stack, or journey so far.
