Really quick question? Equity

Hi all,

How quick can you easily agree on and make official an Equity share in a company? I am VERY ignorant to the whole process is. But what I would like to know is that...

1. Can it be done quickly?
2. Do you NEED solicitors/Lawyers?
3. Is there a template?

Again, please excuse my raw ignorance. I know there are lots of webpages regarding this but they are big and I need a quick bit of advice from people who know.

I have an idea and I'd like to know more before I share and look stupid. lol.
