Hi,
It's time to make a change. Two years of working for others as a freelance. Two years of trying to creating a project, launching it and having fear to show it to others. Two years of doing the same thing again and again even knowing it didn't work the previous 10 times.
Lately i have realized i tend to be more negative. To see what other people is doing and thinking 'i have seen it 1000 times before and is not gonna work' and to feel this is like a bucle that repeats and repeats.
So, it's time to reboot how i think. To reboot the way i do things. To reboot the way i relate with other people trying to earn a living. To forget about most of the things i have learned from people which business is selling you a course on how to create a business. And to learn by just launching, trying to help others and been kind.
I wish this was only me. If you´re feeling the same way, if the
impostor syndrome is something that is eating you from inside and need to share it, here you have me.
If you've ever felt this way, feel free to share it with others. I'm sure we are not alone.
Hey Ricardo! Don't worry. It's not you, it's us, humans:)
Being open-minded, curious, and having a beginner's mindset is a practice in itself. Not trying to preach but maybe perhaps a bit of Zen will help. This book is phenomenal and worked really well for me: https://www.amazon.com/Zen-Mind-Beginners-Informal-Meditation/dp/1590308492
Thanks. I will take a look.
My post comes from analyzing what i´ve being doing wrong and is more a way of public commitment to change the way i do things. Also make it in public as a way of not having an excuse to change it.
You are not alone.
What are you working on? And where are you getting stuck?
Hi,
just finished quizturbo (https://quizturbo.com) a tool for teachers to teach using quizzes. A small tool i wanted to create for my self and my students.
Just finished and i´m gonna be presenting it to some teachers.
Not stuck anyway. Just thinking in all the things i´ve doing wrong again and again and thinking on how to start doing things better.
Congrats on your Rosieland. Always great watching people like you creating useful stuff with no-code tools. You are awesome.
Yeah, I'm conscious of how easy it is for indie hackers to get a bit down in a rut if they look online and all they see are people trying to be positive.
When people struggle and ask for help here at IH, they tend to get a flock of people coming to want to help, but it's so hard to ask for that help in the first place.
One of the best things of IH is the positive people. People who is trying to do things and help others. Not like twitter many times. But from time to time is good to see what your doing wrong and try to change it.
Typing it and publishing is just a way of letting other people know that everybody struggles a bit sometimes and is ok.
