I tried to build something useless. I may have built something else.
The idea was simple:
Create something with no real value.
Actually it was challenge.
You can check it here
https://dev.to/ann_key_1e1ed3c166c1ded1b/rent-a-brain-app-23c
So I built a small interface where:
you input a question
you get multiple conflicting perspectives
you’re forced to decide
What I noticed
People don’t struggle with lack of answers.
They struggle with:
too much internal noise
attachment to one perspective
avoidance disguised as analysis
So I removed “the answer”
Instead of solving the problem, the tool:
shows different thinking patterns
exposes bias
forces internal comparison
The result
Users don’t get clarity from the tool.
They get clarity from noticing themselves.

Why it might matter
This could evolve into:
decision frameworks
behavioral models
adaptive thinking systems
Or it stays what it is:
a joke that works a little too well
Final thought
If you see this as useless, it probably is.
If you see something else…
you’re already building it in your head.
